What’s in a Chipotle Burrito?

Sorta shocking when you think about it.  This is nothing more than a burrito bowl with rice, black beans, fajita veggies, corn & tomato salsa, cheese and lettuce.  Taking out the cheese would lower it to 600 calories, but the rice is the most shocking, as a serving is worth 240 calories.  Frightening!

yeah, but their burritos are so huge I would hope no one could finish a whole one in one sitting. Break it up into two meals, two hearty meals at that, and it’s really not so bad for you. 400 calorie meals are pretty standard.

It’s true, the burritos are ridiculous; which is why I tend to stick with the burrito bowl. It’s the tortilla in the burrito that actually seems to be the unhealthiest thing.

So there’s not even any meat in this bowl? If you added the barbacoa beef I bet it would put it over 1000.

  3. TwobitMe says:

Stanley: Yeah, I knew the tortilla was bad news (as were the chips), but it’s the rice that’s the secret calorie attack. I knew it was unhealthy, but man, I never knew it was THAT unhealthy.

seeing this all over the place lately. Chipotle thinks that doing this hormone-free stuff is going to make us think its good for us… adding the tortilla makes it even more crazy.
